Who Can Apply ?

Kangaroo Kids welcomes children aged 18 months to six years from families across the Maldives and international families relocating from around the world. With a community representing 10+ nationalities, every child quickly feels at home, regardless of where they come from.

Our admissions process is clear, welcoming and designed to help us get to know your child and family before the first day of school.

Whether you are a long-established local family or arriving from abroad for the first time, our admissions team will guide you through every step with care, making your journey to Kangaroo Kids as straightforward and reassuring as possible.

When Can My Child Start?

We accept enrolments throughout the year, subject to availability. We recommend applying as early as possible to secure your preferred session time and year group. Places in our most popular year groups fill quickly, particularly in Playschool and Nursery, so we encourage families to get in touch as soon as they begin considering Kangaroo Kids.

Class Levels and Age Groups

Toddler Transition Programme 1.5 years – 2 years
Playschool 2 – 3 years
Nursery 3 – 4 years
JKG (Junior Kindergarten) 4 to 5 years
SKG (Senior Kindergarten) 5 to 6 years

We offer five year groups, each carefully structured to match the developmental stage and learning needs of the children within it. Our class groupings are based on age and developmental readiness, and our admissions team will work with you to identify the right placement for your child.

Flexible Session Times

We know that families have different needs when it comes to the shape of the school day. That is why we offer a range of session times across all year groups, from early morning starts through to extended afternoon care.

Toddler Transition Programme (TTP), Playschool (PS /PSY1), Nursery (N/ PSY2)
Morning Session: 07:30 – 10:30hrs
Afternoon Session: 11:00 – 14:00hrs
Late Afternoon Session: 14:30 – 17:30hrs

JKG (PSY3) & SKG (PSY4)
Morning Session: 07:30 – 11:30hrs
Afternoon Session: 12:00 – 16:00hrs

    Our admissions team can answer questions, arrange virtual tours, and guide you through the enrolment process remotely before you arrive. Once you are here, our wider school community will make sure you feel welcome from day one.

    The first step is simply getting in touch. Our admissions team is happy to answer your questions, arrange a school visit, or walk you through the application process at a pace that suits your family.

    There is no obligation, and we welcome enquiries at any stage of your decision-making.

Twinkle Stars Extended Hours Programme

    • This programme is specially designed to provide parents the flexibility of extended school hours while ensuring learners remain engaged in purposeful, curriculum-aligned activities.
    • Duration: Additional 1.5, 2 or 3 hours after regular school hours (based on selected option).
    • Educator-Learner Ratio: 1:10 – ensuring personalized care and attention
    • Meals:
      • Learners are expected to bring their own breakfast, lunch, and snacks as needed.
      • Lunch drop-off will not be accommodated. However, special arrangements may be made upon request for children with dietary limitations.

      • Learning Materials: All required materials will be provided by the school.
      Rest Arrangements: Resting areas will be available, though no dedicated nap time is included.

    • This programme is exclusively available to existing learners of the school.
